After giving a thousand and one back to my eager head, and the various forums available on the opinions and experiences regarding the publishing, I opted for discarded, at least temporarily, that option.
First of all I thank Jesus F., Cris and Matt Parker, who through their comments and suggestions have helped me make this decision.
As I said earlier, after consult a variety of experiences presented in different forums on the network, I have concluded that the system of co-edition is an option that could even be considered provided they have exhausted all means available to try to publish, without success. But even reached that stage, I think it will be very important to choose the system most suitable co-edition.
Personally, after having consulted the majority of existing methods, I would be inclined to publish on Lulu or Bubok pages, where you risk not to invest a significant amount of money initially, once publications are made upon customer request. With this system, you get to kill the "bug" to have your library in your own copy, and even give to family and friends a volume of your work. And who knows, if you promote it on the net, maybe I can get the attention of an agent or publisher who once chose not to read the copy given to him. Stranger things have happened.
Throughout this past week, part of the offer available and Atlantis, I have received a new proposal to co-edit Incipit Editors. Thousand copies that they put into circulation during the first year. Said last annuity, unsold books will be sent to my home.
Perhaps the issue could come to sell really well, but it is possible after one year, to meet with dozens of boxes filled with copies of my novel that I will not know how to place, at least it starts to go library after library. If you pass by the various existing forums, you can see how common this situation.
Another issue that should not be left to contemplate, is the intensity that these editorials printed in promoting your work. Remember that they have already paid the expenses of the issue with the money you have paid, lose nothing, and even, on several occasions, not even pay the agreed percentage of profits to the writer. Obviously, one should not introduce all publishers who co-edited with the same brush. I've also read opinions of people who speak very well of their experience with that system.
My choice, therefore, will take the time to leave, and wait for the answer to those agents and editors that I have requested the text for evaluation. In turn, continue with the arduous task of raising awareness of the novel to various agents, as directed by a great contribution that Elizabeth has given me by e-mail and that you hableré in the next post.
